Bess Fire Protection

The Risk

Lithium-ion battery fires can develop deep within battery cells, are extremely difficult to extinguish, and have a significant risk of re-ignition.

The gases released before and during ignition further increase the hazard, making continuous, stable, and reliable fire protection essential for BESS/ESS, critical infrastructure, and special applications.

The two key elements of our system:

Stat-X Aerosol – Continuous and Reliable Fire Suppression

Stat-X condensed aerosol fire suppression is an ideal solution for ESS and BESS, critical infrastructure, and special applications, providing continuous protection even in environments with openings that cannot be fully sealed.

Testing confirms that Stat-X can extinguish fires involving both single and multiple battery units, while residual aerosol particles provide an additional layer of protection against potential re-ignition.

K-Detect-iON – Early Gas Detection

A high-sensitivity gas sensor designed to monitor hydrogen and other flammable gases released during the early stages of battery degradation or failure.

It provides extremely early warning before heat, smoke, or flames develop, enabling proactive intervention to reduce risk and help prevent escalation of the event across BESS/ESS, critical infrastructure, and special applications.

Advanced Technology

Stat-X is one of the lightest, most compact, and cost-effective fire suppression solutions available for BESS/ESS, critical infrastructure, and special applications.

The generator consists of a robust, sealed stainless-steel enclosure containing a stable solid compound.

In the event of a fire, the units release ultrafine particles and inert gases that rapidly suppress flames while requiring significantly less agent than many conventional systems.

Unlike high-pressure gaseous systems, which can rapidly escape from the protected area, Stat-X operates at low pressure, remains suspended within the enclosure, and maintains its effectiveness even in the presence of openings or leakage paths that cannot be fully sealed.

Control System Architecture

For BESS applications, Bfire uses advanced Kentec control solutions selected according to the number of protected areas and the complexity of the installation.

The Kentec Sigma XT is used as a reliable dedicated extinguishing control panel for standard fire suppression applications.

For systems requiring up to four extinguishing zones, Bfire can also implement the Kentec Syncro XT+, providing centralized management of multiple protected areas.

For larger installations with more than four extinguishing areas, Bfire uses the Kentec Syncro AS addressable fire alarm control panel combined with dedicated extinguishing control modules. This architecture makes it possible to manage complex systems with up to 30 or more cabinets or independent suppression zones, providing scalable control, monitoring, and integration for large BESS/ESS installations, critical infrastructure, and special applications.
